Iran and the US have agreed to a ceasefire and given themselves 60 days to potentially reach a lasting peace agreement. Since then, however, there has been little news about further negotiations. Donald Trump is currently more preoccupied with the FIFA World Cup. The markets, however, have stabilized. Oil prices are declining, and the stock markets are recovering somewhat. One might say there’s nothing new in Ukraine, but that’s not entirely true. Russia is experiencing fuel shortages, and Ukraine’s targeted drone attacks are having an effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is particularly evident in the S&P 500, which has stabilized but is still trading sideways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As mentioned, oil prices have declined, but this could change again with any closure of the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gold, on the other hand, has already declined significantly; apparently, investors are not expecting further escalations and are moving from the safe haven of gold back into the stock and derivatives markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
